Our Beginnings
One afternoon, conversing about our favorite local hot springs, a Chilean friend mentioned that much of the helpful travel information for Chile, especially in our region, is, of course, in Spanish…
That got us thinking… perhaps we could share with fellow English-speaking travelers valuable travel tips, like how to find hidden waterfalls, which hot springs are unlike anything you’ve seen before, and where to find a really good cup of coffee.
Travel Chile Insider was founded by Chantel and Rodrigo — a Chilean-American couple — who for years gave guests “at our family’s boutique hotel* all of our best travel tips.”
We are united by mutual desire to share, celebrate, and protect Chile’s warm, generous culture and the vast, untamed beauty that defines it.
Here you’ll find insightful information from people who live and travel throughout Chile and curated destination guides to uncover Chile’s hidden gems.
We’ve had the opportunity to visit many amazing places and experience the joy that comes from catching a glimpse of culture, cuisine, and vistas beyond one’s own.

*Hostería de la Colina is now closed, as the owner has decided to transform the space into something new. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and serve so many people from around the world; our passion for helping people discover and explore the south of Chile remains, and now we are able to channel that passion in the tips, highlights, recommendations here on the Travel Chile Insider blog.
